Kosyno Border Crossing to Close for Two Days: Alternate Routes into Hungary.
Traffic Restrictions at the Kosyno Border Crossing
According to TSN.ua: The Kosyno border crossing between Ukraine and Hungary will be closed to all traffic from March 10th to March 11th, 2023. This temporary closure is necessary to allow for electrical work to connect new modules to the power grid. For travelers, this is a key crossing point in the Zakarpattia region, and the closure will require advance planning.
The installation work is scheduled daily from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. During these hours, the processing and passage of both vehicles and pedestrians in either direction will be completely suspended. Drivers and travelers are strongly advised to use the following alternative border checkpoints instead:
- 'Vylok — Tiszabecs'
- 'Velyka Palad — Nagydobos'
- 'Astei — Beregsurány'
These measures are intended to ensure the future uninterrupted operation of the Kosyno crossing and to improve its overall service level.
The restrictions at the Kosyno crossing may significantly impact those planning to cross the border during this period. It is crucial for drivers and travelers to consider this information and plan their route in advance by using the alternative crossing points listed.
