Nauru does not have a capital, but it is a member of the United Nations.

Nauru is one of the smallest republics on Earth, with an area of only 21.3 square kilometers and approximately 10,800 residents. It is located in the western part of the Pacific Ocean, about 42 km south of the equator.

Despite not having a capital, Nauru is a member of the United Nations, the Commonwealth of Nations, and the Organization of African, Caribbean and Pacific States. Nauru also became the 189th member of the International Monetary Fund in April 2016. The parliament is located in the city of Yaren, which also has the airport.

Few visit Nauru due to its remoteness and lack of interesting tourist attractions. The island is surrounded by coral reefs, which prevent large tourist ships from entering. Therefore, the only way to reach Nauru is by air. Previously, Nauru was one of the wealthiest islands in the world due to phosphate mining. People were so wealthy that they spent money on luxuries, such as throwing supercars into the dump, which now lie rusted. One policeman even bought himself a Lamborghini but couldn't drive it due to his weight.

As spring approaches, European cities become particularly attractive for travel.

Here, you can enjoy a cup of coffee in a square surrounded by ancient buildings, stroll through narrow streets to the sound of church bells, or get lost in the secret passages of a castle.
