Zelensky names countries for summit with Putin: what Moscow's response is.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is actively working on organizing negotiations with Russian leader Putin with the aim of ending the war in Ukraine. Possible venue options for the summit are currently being discussed, but there are certain negative sentiments in the Kremlin regarding this meeting. The Russian side demands a higher level of delegations for negotiations at the highest level.
Zelensky is open to any format of negotiations that can help resolve the conflict and agree on a ceasefire. The President of Ukraine is confident that a successful outcome of the summit will be an important step towards peace in the country. US leaders also support these negotiations and are ready to get involved after a bilateral meeting between Zelensky and Putin.
Attention is focused on the necessity of security guarantees for Ukraine during the peace negotiations and after their conclusion. Russia fears losing the ability to influence the situation in the country and ignoring any agreements. However, in case of further attempts to cancel the negotiation process, partners promise to increase pressure on the aggressor.
In the context of efforts to achieve peace, Russia continues terrorist attacks against the civilian population of Ukraine. Attacks by Russian troops on an American company in the west of the country are just one of the numerous examples of violations of international law and blatant aggression.
