A Curious Incident with Security. Zelensky Recalls His Visit to Trump in 2019.
Zelensky on the Possible Visit to Trump's Inauguration
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky responded to a question about the possibility of attending the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump. He noted that he would like to be present at the ceremony, but first needs to find out what will be happening in Ukraine at that time. Zelensky emphasized that he needs an official invitation from Trump to come to the U.S.
The president also mentioned that if he attends the inauguration, the U.S. must provide him with appropriate security. Zelensky stated that he does not need helicopters or special protection, but this must be handled by U.S. security services.
The president recalled a humorous incident involving security that happened during his visit to the U.S. in 2019. He recounted how his guards tried to join him during a run, but he refused because they were in suits while he was in sportswear.
