Lavrov accuses Ukraine of attacking Putin's residence: what is known about the statement

According to ТСН: The head of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, once again spoke aggressively, claiming that there was an alleged attempt by Ukrainian drones to attack President Vladimir Putin's residence. He accused Ukraine of having a 'terrorist' and 'racist nature'.

According to Lavrov, the attack from Kyiv on Putin's residence confirms the 'terrorist nature of those who illegally hold power in Kyiv'. The minister also emphasized that 'decent members of the world community can clearly see the fabricated 'racist nature of the Kyiv regime and the cynicism of the external sponsors who support it'.

Lavrov thanked the foreign friends of Russia who condemned the fabricated attack of Ukrainian drones on the state residence of the Kremlin leader.

He also expressed the opinion that such events complicate the process of resolving the war in Ukraine, as it is impossible to achieve success in negotiations without halting the 'criminal policy of Kyiv'.

It should be noted that earlier, Lavrov claimed that on the night of December 29, Ukraine attacked Putin's presidential residence in the Novgorod region with 91 drones. The minister characterized this event as 'state terrorism' and announced a review of Russia's negotiating position, although he noted that the country did not intend to withdraw from dialogue.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called Lavrov's statements about the attack on Putin's residence a dangerous fake story invented to derail peace negotiations.

He emphasized that Russia uses this falsehood as justification for its attacks on Ukraine and is evading the end of the war.

These statements from Lavrov indicate a continuation of the escalation of rhetoric between Russia and Ukraine, complicating the possibility of a diplomatic resolution to the conflict. The confrontation continues, and such statements only add fuel to the fire, increasing tensions in the region.
