According to UATV: On June 18–19, 2023, European Union heads of state will convene in Brussels for a European Council meeting, with Ukraine's support taking center stage. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is scheduled to address the assembly, highlighting the critical partnership between Kyiv and the EU during these challenging times. This gathering underscores the bloc's ongoing commitment to Ukraine amid the war with Russia.
In a related development, Ukraine has secured its seventh installment of financial aid, amounting to €2.8 billion. The '3*E4U' Program and Reform Backing
On June 11, 2023, Kyiv launched the second phase of the '3*E4U' initiative, designed to assist Ukraine across several key areas. Yuliia Svyrydenko explained,
“We are updating 35 steps of the Plan and adding 26 new ones. Priority areas include the rule of law, energy, corporate governance, and other essential sectors.”This program will serve as a crucial mechanism for advancing reforms and fostering long-term development.
Additionally, the official opening of the first negotiation cluster, 'Fundamentals,' for both Ukraine and Moldova is set for June 15, 2026. This milestone reflects the EU’s dedication to maintaining dialogue and collaboration with neighboring countries pursuing European integration.
Germany remains a steadfast advocate for Ukraine’s EU membership. Heiko Thoms remarked,
“Germany is a firm supporter of Ukraine’s accession to the EU. The launch of the second phase of the '3*E4U' program marks a new chapter in our support.”This stance reinforces the EU’s resolve to provide Ukraine with the necessary backing on its path toward European integration.
