The doctors' strike in Greece due to problems in the healthcare system
According to inkorr.com: In Greece, medical workers went on strike due to problems in the healthcare system. Doctors demand higher salaries and better working conditions. The president of the Oenge union, Giannis Galanopoulos, noted that doctors are 'tired of being
unhappy' and constantly complaining.
Public medical workers also joined the protest and plan to march towards the prime minister's and parliament buildings to draw attention to healthcare issues. In addition, private medical laboratories will also close in protest against funding cuts.
The Greek parliament passed a reform allowing overtime work, which caused outrage among unions and opposition forces.
This strike reflects deep issues in the Greek healthcare system, where doctors and medical workers face great difficulties. The demands of the medical workers emphasize the urgent need for changes that can improve not only their working conditions but also the overall state of the healthcare sector in the country.
