Lukashenko advised Belarusians to eat less potatoes.
The self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, traveled to the Grodno region and, as always, offered advice to the citizens. According to him, a global conspiracy has caused a sharp rise in potato prices.
“I understand, of course, that in Russia the price of potatoes was two to three times higher. Somewhere, probably, it was better for the peasants and farmers who sold all their produce. However, against this background, some kind of sabotage has appeared,” Lukashenko explained.
But it has become easier for Belarusians when it comes to potatoes, as the first products of this year's harvest have appeared. 'I see no problems, the first potatoes have already appeared,' Lukashenko added. He also urged to avoid excessive weight and suggested rational potato consumption.
“If you eat potatoes every day, as recommended in videos on TikTok, you won't lose weight. It's better to limit yourself to one or two servings a week, and preferably in the form of baked potatoes or mashed potatoes.”
The price of potatoes in Belarus has risen, but the assortment has decreased. This problem has even reached the President of Russia, Vladimir Putin. At the same time, Belarus has allowed the import of vegetables and fruits from the European Union, despite criticism from the West.
In his recent speeches, the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko, expresses concern about the rapid increase in potato prices and urges citizens to protect their health by avoiding excess weight and consuming potatoes in moderation. Moreover, he emphasizes the importance of local production and price control on food products.
