Lviv Airport Studies the Possibility of Opening Civil Flights During the War.
Lviv Airport May Open Flights During Martial Law
Lviv International Airport is considering the possibility of opening civil aviation flights during martial law, provided that all necessary security requirements for aircraft, passengers, and infrastructure are met. This was reported by the airport's press service.
It is also reported that during the war, nearly 1,300 specialists from various aviation services have updated their knowledge and confirmed their qualification level according to certified programs of the State Aviation Service. The airport's service personnel currently constitutes 30% of the number of employees during the pre-war period.
The press service also reports that a document on passenger evacuation procedures has been developed, and ongoing training of these procedures is being conducted.
Planes May Return to Lviv Airport by the End of January 2025
Senior Partner at Marsh McLennan, Crispin Ellison, expressed the opinion that flights from one of Ukraine's airports, specifically 'Lviv' or 'Boryspil', will be restored by the end of January 2025. He also noted that insurance for aviation will be easier if planes are flying from 'Lviv' airport.
However, President Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized that the first international airport to be opened should be 'Boryspil'.
Ukraine Needs Air Defense Systems
Minister for Communities and Territories Development Oleksiy Kuleba stated that Ukraine lacks air defense systems to restore air communication.
It is reminded that in Lviv, due to carbon monoxide poisoning on Knyaz Roman street, nine people are in the hospital, including five children.
