For the Second Time, M1SHKA Misses the Grammys Due to Travel Restrictions.
M1SHKA Absent from Grammy Ceremony
According to TSN.ua: For the second time, Ukrainian artist M1SHKA was unable to attend the Grammy Awards ceremony, held on February 1, 2026, after encountering difficulties securing permission to leave Ukraine. This mirrors his previous experience in 2023, when he also missed the prestigious music event. The Grammys are a key global platform for networking and recognition, making such absences particularly impactful for artists' careers.
M1SHKA received his invitation for the 2026 Grammys on January 16, but complex documentation and permit procedures, which are often challenging for Ukrainians, prevented his travel. Commenting on the situation, M1SHKA stated:
“I was invited to the Grammys again. And again, I couldn't go. In 2023, I was in Ukraine: war, military service—travel was impossible. This year, history repeated itself: Bad Bunny's team invited me on January 16, and the ceremony was on February 1. For the world, this is 'spontaneous.' For a Ukrainian, it's often simply unrealistic to get the documents and permits in time.”

Challenges Facing Ukrainian Artists
In 2023, M1SHKA won a Grammy for his work on Rosalía's album 'Motomami.' His 2026 nomination was for contributions to Bad Bunny's album 'Debí Tirar Más Fotos,' underscoring his active role in the international music industry despite travel hurdles. Missing the Grammys deprives artists of crucial industry exposure and opportunities for collaboration.
M1SHKA's predicament highlights the broader logistical and bureaucratic obstacles many Ukrainian artists face during the ongoing conflict and recovery period. The importance of international awards like the Grammys for career advancement and global recognition is undeniable, and the inability to participate can hinder professional growth.
This situation also points to the need for streamlined travel procedures for Ukrainian artists, which could enhance their opportunities within the global music industry.
