Real estate fraud in Odessa - what threatens the official.
An Odessa official was exposed for transferring rights to real estate in Odessa without proper documentation, leading to millions of losses for the state. For this case, he faces imprisonment, reports the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office.
The official intentionally submitted false information to the State Register of Real Property Rights about the transfer of 2 properties in Odessa to the ownership of a citizen. He entered this information based on fake sale agreements without notarization and other confirmations of the rights to alienation. These properties, with an area of more than 200 sq. m., are state-owned and are attached to the Selection and Genetic Institute - National Center for Seed Science and Variety Studies of the NAAS of Ukraine. As a result, the actions of the state have caused more than 2.5 million hryvnias in damages.
What punishment is threatened
The official has been informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 362 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized actions with information processed in automated systems), for which he faces from 3 to 6 years of imprisonment. It is also worth mentioning that recently there were reports about other similar cases involving officials from Odessa region who profited from taxes and are suspected of land fraud.
As a result of investigative actions, an official in Odessa was exposed who attempted to transfer real estate to private ownership without proper documents, causing significant damages to the state. Such cases reflect systemic problems in the property sector and corruption among officials, who are subjected to justice and punishment.
