During the talks, the political process in Syria after the collapse of President Bashar al-Assad's regime was also discussed. An important topic was the necessity of releasing hostages and a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, where Israel's operation against the militants of 'HAMAS' is ongoing.
Blinken and Macron discussed the necessity of concluding a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which should ensure the immediate release of all hostages. They emphasized the importance of an inclusive transitional process in Syria that should support the rights of the Syrian people.
The State Department emphasized that Blinken and Macron committed to continue cooperation on these critical issues.
