Large-Scale Assault Across Ukraine

According to UATV: On March 24, 2023, Russian forces launched a sweeping attack on multiple areas of Ukraine, hitting the Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Poltava regions especially hard. The assault resulted in civilian deaths and widespread damage to infrastructure, continuing a pattern of intense hostilities.

Regional Impact of the Attacks

In Zaporizhzhia, one man was killed and seven others were wounded. The strikes caused significant harm to local infrastructure:

  • six apartment buildings and two private homes were damaged;
  • a store was hit;
  • non-residential structures were affected;
  • an industrial facility also suffered damage.

The situation in the Poltava region proved equally dire. Two people lost their lives there, and 11 more were injured—including at least one child. Residential buildings and hotels sustained damage, highlighting the broad scope of destruction in the area.

In the Sumy region, a single strike injured a 13-year-old child and their father. Meanwhile, in the Trostianets community, a grain storage facility was hit, posing serious risks to local agricultural production.

Ukraine remains under severe pressure from ongoing attacks that continue to harm civilians and destroy critical infrastructure.

These offensive actions underscore an escalation in the conflict, with devastating consequences for Ukraine’s people and economy. Damage to key infrastructure—especially in the agricultural sector—could threaten food security in the region during wartime. It is vital for the international community to respond to these events in order to support Ukraine’s efforts to preserve its territorial integrity and protect its civilian population.
