Deadly Shelling Strikes Kharkiv Region: One Killed, Five Wounded, Artemivka Suffers Worst Damage.

Attacks on Kharkiv Oblast

According to Novyny.live: On March 18 and 19, Russian forces launched a heavy artillery barrage across the Kharkiv region. The assault claimed one life and left five others injured. The fatal strike occurred in the city of Kharkiv, killing a 54-year-old man. Among the wounded were two men aged 45 and 23, as well as a 16-year-old boy. In the village of Ruski Tyshky, a 65-year-old man and a 66-year-old woman sustained injuries. During an evacuation in Kupyansk, a 68-year-old man and a 58-year-old woman were also hurt.

Infrastructure and Property Damage

The shelling caused extensive destruction. In Kharkiv, three private homes and a store were damaged. Electrical networks were hit in Shypuvate, and a car was damaged in Horokhovatka. Another vehicle was struck in Ruski Tyshky, while a private house was destroyed in Kozacha Lopan. The most severe damage was recorded in Artemivka, located in the Chuhuiv district, where the following were impacted:

  • a farming enterprise,
  • three cars,
  • three tractors,
  • a combine harvester,
  • a private residence,
  • electrical grids.

According to Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, 235 combat engagements took place over the past day. On the Southern Slobozhansky axis, Russian troops attempted to breach Ukrainian defenses 14 times, while ten attacks were recorded on the Kupyansk front. In total, the enemy deployed:

  • five Geran-2 drones,
  • two Molniya drones,
  • two FPV drones,
  • eight additional unmanned aerial vehicles.

These attacks are part of the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, which continues to inflict heavy casualties on civilians and damage critical infrastructure. The high number of combat clashes and drone usage highlights the persistent volatility in the region. The intensity and duration of these strikes underscore that both sides remain locked in active hostilities, worsening the humanitarian crisis for local residents.
