In India, a large Samsung counterfeit factory was uncovered: over 500 smartphones seized.
According to ТСН: India faces a serious problem with counterfeit products, especially in the areas of smartphones, smartwatches, headphones, tablets, and laptops. The most common counterfeits are iPhone and Samsung Galaxy models. Indian law enforcement has launched an operation to reduce the number of counterfeit Samsung phones in the market.
According to data obtained by the Delhi police, a group was operating in one of the shops in the city that manufactured counterfeit Samsung smartphones.
Law enforcement raid
On the night of December 13 to 14, 2025, acting on operational information, law enforcement conducted a raid at this location. As a result of the search, four individuals were detained who were assembling phones from components brought in from China.
Seizure of counterfeits
Law enforcement confiscated 512 counterfeit Samsung Galaxy smartphones, including Galaxy S Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold, and Galaxy Z Flip models. Each of these phones was planned to be sold for 35–40 thousand Indian rupees. Also, 124 motherboards, 138 batteries, and 459 IMEI stickers marked 'Made in Vietnam' were confiscated, along with special tools for assembling devices.
Next steps in the investigation
Further investigative actions will focus on tracking supply chain links and contacts with buyers to uncover networks related to the production and sale of counterfeits. Thanks to this raid and subsequent checks, it is hoped that the number of counterfeit Samsung smartphones in the Indian market will be reduced. This will not only protect consumers from fraudsters but also strengthen the Samsung brand.
This operation is an important step in the fight against counterfeit products in India. It underscores the commitment of law enforcement to ensure consumer safety and uphold the reputation of legitimate manufacturers. The uncovered counterfeit networks may have far-reaching consequences, making it vital to continue such raids and efforts at all levels.
