Large-scale protests in France

According to inkorr.com: In France, large protests have taken place against the government's policy of reducing budget expenditures. According to RFI, Le Monde, and Le Figaro, over 500,000 people took to the streets, including 55,000 in Paris alone, reports 'Glavkom'.

The protests were organized by trade unions, which were joined by representatives of various professions: teachers, healthcare workers, pharmacists, as well as transportation and metro workers. These demonstrations were a reaction to the government's decision to cut public spending, which, according to the protesters, might negatively impact social services.

Protesters demand increased funding for public services, higher taxes for wealthy citizens, and the cancellation of changes to the pension system. France has a progressive tax system where the income tax rate increases with rising income. For example, for individuals whose annual income exceeds 177,000 euros, the tax rate is 45%.

As a result of the protests, significant delays occurred in public transport in Paris due to the workers' strike and blocked streets. Pharmacies were closing nationwide as pharmacists also participated in the demonstrations. In some regions of France, school closures were reported. According to the French Ministry of Education, one in six teachers in the country took to the protests.

Mass protests in France brought together over 500,000 people demanding increased funding for public services and the cancellation of changes to the pension system. This led to serious transportation issues, school closures, and pharmacy shutdowns in some areas of the country.

These protests reflect the growing discontent with the government's social policies and the necessity to consider the interests of various social groups. In the context of the economic difficulties faced by the country, the mood of the protesters could pose a significant challenge for the authorities.
