The large-scale defense plan for Europe has stalled due to Macron and Scholz.

A dispute has arisen in the European Union between France and Germany regarding the allocation of 150 billion euros for the development of the defense industry. This issue became a subject of discussions during the summit of European leaders.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz proposes to involve partners who are not EU members in this initiative, while French President Emmanuel Macron emphasizes strengthening European autonomy and supporting domestic production.

"Expenses should not go towards new systems that are not European," Macron stated.

However, Brussels diplomatic circles express concern that this initiative may encounter problems that are already hindering the European defense industry program.

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen underscores that the funds will be directed toward various areas, including air and missile defense. She also states that this will help member countries to consolidate demand and provide military equipment for Ukraine.

The Polish government feels pressure regarding the conclusion of the agreement. Although the initiative may be approved by a majority of the 27 EU countries, France's participation is critically important. However, diplomats note that resolving this issue will be complicated.
