In Cherkasy region, a mother and son were detained for a knife attack on a military officer of the Territorial Recruitment Center.
According to ТСН: In the Cherkasy region, law enforcement officers detained two local residents suspected of attacking a serviceman of the Territorial Recruitment Center and Social Support. The incident occurred during a document check and is classified as hindering the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a special period.
The men are accused of inflicting minor bodily injuries on the military person and attempting to obstruct the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The investigation established that in November 2025, servicemen of the Territorial Recruitment Center and Social Support, along with a police officer, approached a 40-year-old man for a check of his military documents.
According to the investigation, the man began to aggressively resist and tried to avoid conscription.
“After this, the mother of the suspect ran to the scene and stabbed the serviceman twice with a knife — in the back and wrist. Taking advantage of the situation, both offenders fled the crime scene in a car. Law enforcement quickly established their whereabouts and detained them. A preventive measure in the form of detention was chosen for the suspects,” the prosecutor's office reported.
Detention and preventive measure
Law enforcement quickly identified the location of the suspects and detained them. The court decided to impose a preventive measure in the form of detention.
The investigation is ongoing under the supervision of the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor's Office, and the operational support is provided by the Security Service of Ukraine in the Cherkasy region. The actions of the suspects were qualified under Part 2 of Article 28, Part 1 of Article 114-1, Part 2 of Article 350 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty under the article regarding hindering the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in a special period provides for a punishment of up to five years of imprisonment.
This incident occurs against the backdrop of other similar incidents. In particular, in November 2025, the Sykhiv District Court of Lviv issued a verdict in a case of an attack on a law enforcement officer, where the accused used tear gas to escape from a military officer and the police, and he was sentenced to a probation period. The Kholodnohirskiy District Court in Kharkiv recognized a conscript guilty of evading conscription during mobilization in the same month, sentencing him to three years of imprisonment.
These events underscore the relevance of the issue of fulfilling military duty in Ukraine, especially in wartime conditions. As experience shows, the legislation on military service and liability for evasion remains a serious problem for law enforcement agencies.
