Joining the Parliamentary Group

According to Novyny.live: During a parliamentary session on February 26, it was confirmed that MP Mykola Tyshchenko has become a member of the 'Restoration of Ukraine' parliamentary group. The group is co-chaired by Maksym Yefimov and Ihor Abramovych. This development comes as Tyshchenko faces separate legal proceedings. The group currently consists of 18 members, though this number may drop to 17 due to the expected expulsion of Anatolii Hunko, who has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Mykola Tyshchenko, first elected to parliament in 2019, was previously a member of the 'Servant of the People' faction before being expelled. He and another MP, Bohdan Pisarenko, are currently accused of the unlawful detention of Dmytro Mazokha. As a result, a court has imposed a pre-trial restraint measure on Tyshchenko.

Composition of the Parliamentary Group

Parliament Speaker Ruslan Stefanchuk verified Tyshchenko's membership in the 'Restoration of Ukraine' group. The group's membership includes former members of the 'Opposition Platform — For Life' and 'Trust' parties, as well as non-aligned former members of 'Servant of the People'.

Tyshchenko's move from a major ruling faction to a smaller, cross-party group signals a potential shift in Ukraine's parliamentary dynamics. This political realignment is further complicated by his ongoing legal issues, which could impact his future career and standing.

It remains to be seen how this change will affect the group's work and its capacity to influence legislative initiatives in Ukraine.
