The Ministry of Economy commented on the information about printing summonses for 900 million hryvnias.
Order on the printing of summonses for official use
According to the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine, the information about the order regarding the printing of 900,000 summonses is true, but it is marked "For official use".
The "Judicial-Legal Newspaper" received confirmation of its journalistic inquiry.
According to the Ministry's response, on September 24, 2024, Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted order No. 915-r "On the allocation of funds from the reserve fund of the state budget for strengthening the defense capability of the state." This document was marked "For official use".
The Ministry of Economy prepared a draft order and an explanatory note to it with the corresponding mark in accordance with the protocol decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine meeting on September 24, 2024, No. 97, and based on the directive of the Prime Minister of Ukraine to the letter from the Ministry of Defense.
The ministry also noted that the Ministry of Defense was involved by the Secretariat of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine in considering the request from the "Judicial-Legal Newspaper", particularly as a developer of the information that forms the basis for preparing the order.
In view of the document's confidentiality and with the aim of preventing the leakage of information about the preparation of defense forces, the Ministry of Economy suggests contacting the Ministry of Defense to obtain the substantiating materials for the order.
It was previously reported that by the end of 2024, 900,000 summonses are planned to be printed and sent to the addresses of those liable for military service. Thanks to legislative updates and the implementation of the Reserve+ application, the Ministry has been able to gather up-to-date information on the residences of those eligible for military service.
The funding for printing and sending the summonses is planned to come from the state budget's reserve fund. For this purpose, 71.82 million UAH has been allocated to the Ministry of Defense. The process will involve SE "Printing Plant Ukraine" and JSC "Ukrposhta", with service costs amounting to 17.82 million UAH and 54 million UAH respectively.
