Ministry of Energy warns about long power outages: what to expect for Ukrainians.
The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is preparing for possible power outages
According to inkorr.com: The Ministry of Energy of Ukraine is considering options for possible extended power outages in case of new Russian attacks on the energy infrastructure. Minister Svitlana Hrynchuk noted that it is currently difficult to make precise predictions, so it is necessary to be prepared for various situations.
According to Hrynchuk, the state of the country's energy sector will depend on the intensity and frequency of the attacks, as well as the speed of restoring damaged equipment. She emphasized that although the ministry is preparing for various scenarios, including the worst, it hopes to avoid significant power outages.
Of course, we are preparing for various options and for the worst-case scenarios as well. But we hope that, through joint efforts, we can maintain the operation of the energy system and avoid prolonged outages.
In addition, due to Russian attacks on energy infrastructure in Chernihiv region, a schedule of hourly power outages has already been introduced. Hrynchuk noted that Russian forces constantly damage the energy sector of the region, attacking almost immediately after the restoration of electricity supply.
It's too early to say that we will have long-term outages... However, unfortunately, we have experience from previous years, when the situation changed every day and anything could be expected.
