Ukraine's eQueue System Revamped for Bus Border Crossings.
eQueue System Gets an Upgrade
According to TSN.ua: The Ukrainian Ministry for Communities and Territories Development has rolled out a significant update to its eQueue system for short-haul international bus routes. This change applies to bus routes up to 400 km in length and is designed to improve conditions for both transport operators and passengers. A key new feature allows a single bus to make two or more border crossings per day, provided it holds a regular permit.
The updated rules for using the eQueue system were formalized by Ministry Order No. 1177. The new functionality will go live on January 21 at 9:00 AM. This overhaul aims to eliminate physical queues at the border, a major benefit for bus travelers. The system also enables advance trip planning for passengers as well as carriers, offering greater predictability for international journeys. This reform is part of broader efforts to streamline logistics and modernize Ukraine's transit infrastructure amid ongoing challenges.
"We are adapting the eQueue system to the real working conditions of carriers," stated Serhiy Derkach.
The implementation of transparent and clear border-crossing rules is intended to improve logistics and boost the efficiency of transportation. The enhanced eQueue system promises to be a significant step in simplifying the process for international bus travel.
Benefits of the New Features
The upgrade to the eQueue system is a crucial move to improve transportation conditions, particularly given the increased demand for international bus travel. Under the new rules, carriers will gain the flexibility to organize their routes more efficiently, while passengers will save considerable time at border crossings. This improvement has the potential to positively impact tourism development and economic ties between Ukraine and its neighboring countries.
