The Ministry of Justice did not sign a new contract with the director of the Kyiv Research Institute of Forensic Examinations Oleksandr Ruin. Currently, the duties of the director will be performed by Maksym Kyseliov. This was reported by representatives of the Ministry.

The term of Oleksandr Ruin's contract expired on December 31, 2024. The order for the temporary appointment of Maksym Kyseliov as the director of the Institute was signed on January 1, 2025, by the Minister of Justice Olha Stefanishina.

«The main task of the new leader is to ensure the stable and effective operation of the Institute. Special attention will be paid to establishing crimes of armed aggression by the RF, damages to the state and citizens, as well as solving tasks related to Ukraine's restoration and development of international cooperation», - said Deputy Minister of Justice Andriy Haichenko.

Maksym Kyseliov was born in 1979. He obtained higher legal education at the National Academy of Internal Affairs of Ukraine. He has been working in the field of law for 23 years and holds the title of Honored Lawyer of Ukraine. Since 2019, he has headed the Department of State Enforcement Service of the Ministry of Justice.

It should be reminded that earlier there was information that the Ministry of Justice might not extend the contract with Oleksandr Ruin after its expiration on January 1, 2025. This is related to the confirmation of his possession of Israeli citizenship.

Before obtaining access to state secrets at the Security Service, Ruin indicated that he has Israeli citizenship. Initially, he claimed that he no longer had foreign citizenship, but later stated that such citizenship exists, but it is merely a residence permit.
