According to Novyny.live: City and municipal councils are now allowed to independently send summons to conscripts. These documents have the same legal validity as those issued by territorial recruitment centers (TCC). This change aims to update the data of conscripts and push for military medical examinations. However, those who ignore such a summons must reckon with serious consequences.

The legal consequences of non-compliance should not be underestimated. Jurij Ajvasjan, an expert in military law, warns:

“I strongly advise you not to ignore a council summons, as the liability for failure to appear is the same as with a summons directly issued by the TCC.”

Another critical point is the possibility of being wanted for ignoring the summons. Ajvasjan adds:

“I also want to point out that according to previous practice, if you fail to appear, you will be wanted after a notification from the council stating ‘did not appear for mobilization order’.”

The introduction of this new authority emphasizes the importance of mobilization measures during the war. This decision aims to ensure more effective monitoring of conscripts and their timely fulfillment of obligations. Therefore, it is essential that all affected individuals are informed about the new rules to avoid negative consequences from ignoring summons.
