Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and U.S. President Joe Biden met regarding the differences in their relationship concerning mobilization and the age of conscription. According to The Telegraph, this has become one of the most tense disputes between the two countries during the war conflict.

The U.S. urged Ukraine to lower the conscription age to 18, as there is a shortage of personnel on the front, and Russia could exploit this for its interests. Secretary of State Antony Blinken stated that for success on the front, not only financing and weapons are needed, but also human reserves.

However, Zelensky opposed this and believes that disarmament and reducing Russia's military potential should be the priority.

Due to the age structure of the population in Ukraine, the group aged 18 to 25 is very small, as the majority of the population belongs to older age groups. Therefore, the conscription age has already been lowered from 27 to 25 years.

It is known that Zelensky will discuss this situation with Biden, as well as issues regarding NATO and the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine.
