Two Key Requirements for Mobilized Interior Ministry Officers to Gain Rank in Ukraine's Armed Forces.
Re-Certification Process for Mobilized Interior Officers to Attain Military Rank
According to Novyny.live: Officers from Ukraine's Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) who have been mobilized can now apply to have their rank recognized within the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This process, however, is contingent upon meeting two mandatory conditions. This policy aims to formally integrate skilled personnel from law enforcement into the military structure.
- The first requirement is signing a contract for an officer's position. For instance, a mobilized individual holding the rank of senior lieutenant in the MIA must secure an appointment to a corresponding officer role within the AFU.
- The second, equally critical condition is obtaining approval from the military command. Without the explicit consent of their superiors, the re-certification cannot proceed.
As explained by Yurii Karpenko,
"Re-certification is only possible if you are signing a contract for an officer's position."He further stressed that
"your command must give its consent for this."This underscores the decisive role of the chain of command in authorizing the transfer of rank.
Therefore, mobilized MIA officers seeking AFU rank must carefully consider these stipulations and coordinate their efforts directly with their military leadership.
This initiative has the potential to strengthen Ukraine's military personnel resources by allowing experienced officers from internal services to formally bring their expertise to the armed forces. The emphasis on command approval highlights the need for structured coordination within the military framework, which is crucial for managing mobilization and the integration of personnel into new service conditions.
