Young doctors are offered 200 thousand UAH: conditions for obtaining a grant.
According to inkorr.com: Young doctors who have completed their residency and wish to work in rural or frontline communities can receive financial assistance from the state amounting to 200 thousand UAH. This initiative was introduced by the Government to attract medical specialists to regions where there is a lack of professionals to ensure quality medical care where it is most needed. The program is aimed at graduates of 20 state universities under the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education and will be effective until the end of martial law. This
is reported by the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
Which doctors will be able to receive a one-time payment of 200,000 UAH
To receive this payment,
the doctormust find a job vacancy on the Unified Web Portal of Medical Workers, contact the medical institution in the village or in the combat area, and check two conditions: the filling of medical positions must not exceed 75%, and the institution is ready to sign a three-year contract.
If all conditions are met, the medical professional signs the contract, and the institution issues a confirmation letter of compliance with the regulation. The payment is also available for those who have already been employed after their residency in such a medical institution.
How to apply for a state grant for doctors
To apply for a grant, the doctor must submit the following documents to the higher education institution where the residency was completed by October 10:
Application addressed to the rector (any form);
Confirmation letter from the medical institution;
Copies of the diploma and certificate (if there are no data in the Unified State Register of Persons Subject to Insurance);
Copy of the employment record book or extract from the Register of Insured Persons;
Copy of the contract with the medical institution.
Documents can be submitted in person or via the official email of the university. Contact details are available on the Ministry of Health website. The higher education institution will review the application and issue an order for payment, which should arrive by the end of the budget year.
Conditions for returning the grant to the state
However, there is an important nuance: in the case of the doctor voluntarily resigning, by mutual consent, or for violating obligations, the money must be returned within 10 days. Exceptions include the closure of the institution, force majeure, I-II group disability of the doctor or their relatives, conscription into the army.
Analysts predict that by 2026, the program will cover another 2000 specialists if martial law is lifted.
This program aims not only to improve access to medical services in rural and frontline communities but also to encourage young doctors to stay in Ukraine to ensure the quality of medical care. Attracting new specialists to such regions is an important step in treating and preventing diseases, especially under current challenges. In the future, we will be able to monitor the results of this initiative and its impact on the country's medical field.
