The assault lasted from 12:30 PM on Saturday until 11:30 AM on Sunday. Russia's air defense systems successfully intercepted and destroyed 95 drones, underscoring the severity of the threat.
The attack caused significant disruption to air travel, resulting in 37 flight delays. Specifically:

- 13 flights were affected at Domodedovo Airport;
- 7 flights faced delays at Sheremetyevo Airport.
Moscow's airports resumed normal operations by 1:00 PM on March 15, allowing air traffic to gradually return to schedule.
Recent Developments
Notably, the previous drone attack on Moscow occurred on March 8, when six drones were shot down. Additionally, explosions were heard in Belgorod during the night of March 14-15. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin confirmed that 95 drones were neutralized in this latest incident.
The airports that faced restrictions include:
- Domodedovo;
- Vnukovo;
- Sheremetyevo;
- Zhukovsky.
While authorities maintain that the situation is under control, the widespread flight delays highlight the serious nature of the threat confronting the Russian capital.
This drone attack is part of escalating tensions in the region, driven by various geopolitical factors. Given that previous incidents have occurred in quick succession, it may signal a shift in tactics within the broader conflict. The response of Russian security forces and their ability to counter such threats remains critical, as the safety of civilian aviation is essential for the country's functioning.
