Language Ombudsman Taras Kremin confirmed that he received threats and expressed his outrage regarding possible security problems for the institution after his term ends. Kremin did not receive a second term in office, and now he is considering offers for future professional steps.
“I have received threats of reprisal, but even in such cases, the institution of the language ombudsman must have reliable protection. Now, as the election of the next commissioner takes place at a difficult time for Ukraine, it is important to ensure stability and security in this area,” emphasized Taras Kremin.
Plans for the Future
Kremin also noted that threats were directed at him via social media and comments, but he plans to focus on scientific and educational opportunities in the future related to his professional experience. He takes the situation seriously and expresses concern about the future of the Ukrainian language ombudsman institution, emphasizing the importance of protecting such institutions in difficult times for the country.
