Municipal Security of Kyiv at the Center of Scandals: Where Millions of Hryvnias Are Going.
The communal organization 'Municipal Security' is responsible for the safety of communal facilities in Kyiv and patrols the capital's parks. Maintaining this organization will cost Kyiv residents nearly a billion hryvnias this year. However, neither funding, nor the form, nor bold statements prevent scandals and problems.
After Serhiy Chernyshov, the former head of police in Horlivka, took over 'Municipal Security', strange events began to occur in the organization. Some employees reported unpaid salaries, fictitious internal investigations, and persecution.
Additionally, according to Andriy Vitrenko, the head of the Kyiv City Council's budget committee, and public activist, veteran Oleg Symoroz, 'Municipal Security' was guarding dubious establishments. The public house Tootsie Gentlemen's Club, located in the house of Kyiv's mayor Vitali Klitschko, became central to the scandal.
- How 'Municipal Security' uses millions of hryvnias as charitable contributions for its volunteers
- How the Kyiv City Council helps members of 'Municipal Security' in the security services market;
- Why the Antimonopoly Committee recommended the Kyiv City Council for the second time to cease actions that violate competition legislation.
Recently, deputy Andriy Vitrenko noted that the Kyiv City Council has effectively not been working for several months. He previously pointed out that the city's mayor Klitschko controls the appointments, dismissals, and actions of employees of the Kyiv City State Administration.
In the new issue of 'Our Case', scandalous events related to the activities of the communal organization 'Municipal Security', which was supposed to ensure the safety of communal facilities and help veterans, are revealed. But instead of addressing funding and the conflicting situations arising in the organization, they become the subject of dubious investigations and mockery.
