In Ukraine, age restrictions for drivers have been changed: who and from what age can drive

According to inkorr.com: The Main Service Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine reports on age restrictions for drivers. Persons who have reached the age of 16 can drive mopeds and motorcycles. Driving passenger cars is allowed from the age of 18. To drive vehicles with heavy trailers, one must be at least 19 years old, and for passenger transport, one must reach the age of 21.

Legislative norms and financial consequences

More complex types of transport require additional experience. Driving vehicles with heavy trailers is allowed only after 19 years, and passenger transport can be driven from 21 years old.

Violation of these requirements may lead to serious fines. For example, a minor driver who operates a vehicle without permission may face a fine of 3400 UAH. Parents will also bear responsibility if their child operates a vehicle before the age of 16.

Driver's license updates and control

In Ukraine, driver's licenses are currently being updated to plastic documents through an online cabinet. At the same time, new rules for traveling abroad were introduced, and the police have intensified control over compliance with language norms used by drivers and transport companies.

Currently, there are clear age restrictions in Ukraine for those who want to obtain a driver's license. Adhering to these norms is important to avoid fines and other negative consequences. Updating licenses and monitoring language norms will help ensure road safety and facilitate communication between drivers and law enforcement officers.
