According to Espreso.tv: Ihor Khozhaniyazov, a senior sailor, soldier, and musician who championed the cultural heritage of the steppe, lost his life on Ukraine’s Constitution Day. The tragedy struck just one day before his youngest son’s first birthday. He leaves behind his wife Olena Shykura, with whom he shared nearly 13 years of marriage, and their three sons.
Remembering the Fallen Amid War's Toll
Khozhaniyazov is one of at least 221 Ukrainian artists and 108 media professionals killed since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion. His death highlights the devastating human cost of the ongoing war. A burial ceremony will take place in the village of Zarvantsi, where he will be laid to rest in the Alley of Defenders of Ukraine.
Olena Shykura shared her grief, saying: 'My heart, my joy, pure soul, beloved husband.'
