Every day at 9 a.m. Ukrainians honor the memory of all those whose lives have been taken by the Russian-Ukrainian war. Today we remember Wassyl Dobrowolskyj.

On October 12, 2024, the defender from Wolosjanka, Wassyl Dobrowolskyj, disappeared during a combat mission near the village of Myroljubiwka in the Donetsk region. This was reported by the council of the settlement of Slawske.

Wassyl was born on December 20, 1976. He attended the general school in Wolosjanka. Wassyl was a good housekeeper who loved everything to be in order and in its place.

Together with his wife, he raised two wonderful sons. For a while, he worked as a driver at the professional fire department.

"Wassyl Dobrowolskyj was the person you could always rely on. Hardworking, reliable, sincere - he was a friend, a support, and a role model for many," they noted in the emergency service.

After the large-scale invasion, Wassyl immediately joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine because he believed it was everyone's duty to defend their own country. The defender was a driver in the material and technical supply department of the fifth infantry battalion's rifle squad.

On October 12, 2024, the hero disappeared during a combat mission near the village of Myroljubiwka in the Donetsk region.

The entire community believed all along that Wassyl was alive, but unfortunately, the hero returned “on the shield.”

Glavkom joins the moment of silence. We honor the memory of all Ukrainians who have fallen in the fight for their homeland. We remember the fallen at the hands of Russian invaders, light memorial candles, and bow our heads in sorrow during the nationwide moment of silence and honor the bright memory of the citizens of Ukraine who gave their lives for the freedom and independence of the state: all military personnel, civilians, and children, all who have fallen in the struggle against Russian occupiers and as a result of the attack of hostile troops on Ukrainian cities and villages.
