Key Highway in Kharkiv Region Shut Down Due to Emergency Culvert Failure: Diversion Routes Announced.
Traffic Disruption in Kharkiv Region
According to Novyny.live: Starting June 11, vehicle movement between Balakliia and Kehychivka in the Kharkiv region has been temporarily halted because of a damaged drainage culvert. The closure affects a segment of the T-21-10 highway, which runs from Shevchenkove to Balakliia, as well as to Pervomaiskyi and Kehychivka. Specifically, the stretch from kilometer 89+160 to kilometer 97+013 is now off-limits to traffic.
An emergency failure of the water-drainage pipe is the cause behind this shutdown. To maintain road safety, a detour has been arranged using local routes. Drivers can opt for the following alternatives:
- Road S212220, leading to the village of Kyseli (detour length: 2.2 km)
- Road S212203, connecting Kamianka with Kyseli (detour length: 7.3 km)
Road Safety Concerns
It is also worth noting that additional restrictions have been placed on the ring road due to drone strikes along the M-03 highway. Oleh Syniehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, confirmed these limitations and urged drivers to remain vigilant and cautious on the roads. This situation highlights the ongoing infrastructure challenges in a region already strained by security issues.
'Drivers must stay alert and take the detours into account to avoid congestion and ensure their safety on the road.' - Oleh Syniehubov
The closure of these critical road sections in the Kharkiv region stems from emergency situations, underscoring the urgent need for infrastructure repairs. Such disruptions could affect transportation accessibility in the area, which is especially significant amid current security concerns.
