Fatal accident on the Kyiv–Kharkiv highway: driver killed, 13 injured.
According to ТСН: A serious road traffic accident occurred on the Kyiv–Kharkiv highway involving a minibus and two cars.
The police of Kyiv region reported this on their Facebook page.
Currently, law enforcement is investigating the causes of the incident.
On Sunday evening, near the village of Ivankiv in the Boryspil district, a severe accident occurred. At about 21:10, three vehicles collided: a Mercedes-Benz minibus and Jeep and Volkswagen cars.
Incident Details
According to preliminary data, the cause of the accident was improper maneuvering by the minibus driver:
Crossing into oncoming traffic: the driver of the Mercedes-Benz crossed into oncoming traffic, resulting in a head-on collision with the Jeep and Volkswagen.
Casualties and injuries: the driver of the Jeep was killed on the spot from the injuries sustained.
Hospitalization: due to the accident, 13 people sustained injuries of varying severity. Six passengers were hospitalized, while others received assistance at the scene. The minibus driver also has bodily injuries.
At this moment, vehicle movement on the section of the Kyiv–Kharkiv highway near the village of Ivankiv is restricted, with passage possible only in one lane.
Current Situation
A criminal investigation team and patrol police are working at the scene. Specialists are collecting evidence to establish the final causes and circumstances of the tragedy.
Recall that in Poland, a fatal accident occurred, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed the death of five young Ukrainians.
The tragedy on the Kyiv–Kharkiv highway highlights the importance of adhering to traffic rules. In such cases, every driver’s decision can have fatal consequences. The police continue the investigation to clarify all circumstances and to prevent similar incidents in the future.
