North Korean troops brought a special air defense system to the Kursk region, which the Russian troops mistakenly destroyed. According to Forbes, when the 11th Army Corps of North Korea arrived in the Kursk region, they brought anti-tank equipment, howitzers, missile systems, and a rare air defense system.

This system was a unique combination of wheeled chassis, radar, and launchers from the Russian Tor air defense system, which is usually mounted on a tracked platform. Its unusual appearance likely led Russian military personnel to fail to recognize the system as their own equipment. As a result, Russian drones mistakenly attacked this equipment, believing it to be Ukrainian air defense.

It appears that what was initially regarded as a 'radar system of Western production' is actually a North Korean version of the Tor air defense system on a wheeled chassis. It's funny... that Russia struck its own air defense system, noted Polish analyst WarVehicleTracker.

According to Forbes, this loss severely undermined the Russian-North Korean grouping in the Kursk region, which has unsuccessfully tried to push back Ukrainian forces with a composition of 20,000 servicemen since November. Previous attempts ended with dozens killed and wounded during assaults and battles.

It should be noted that the soldiers of the Special Operations Forces (SSO) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine repelled the assault of North Korean troops, destroying more than 10 soldiers. One of the militants had an explosive grenade that detonated.

According to North Korean intelligence, about 300 soldiers from this country were killed during the fighting in the Kursk region.
