NASA may prematurely end Crew-11 mission due to astronaut health issues

According to ТСН: NASA has reported the potential premature termination of the Crew-11 mission due to health issues affecting one of the astronauts aboard the International Space Station. Consequently, the agency has already postponed a planned spacewalk.

The agency has not disclosed the astronaut's name or details of their condition, citing confidentiality, but notes that the situation remains stable. In a statement that NASA sent out on Thursday morning, specialists indicated that they are considering "all possible solutions", including the option of returning the crew to Earth early. It is also emphasized that such scenarios are rehearsed in advance, and details about the events will be provided within a day.

Crew-11 Mission Composition

The Crew-11 mission is another expedition by SpaceX to the orbital station. The crew comprises NASA astronauts Zen Cardman and Michael Fincke, Japanese astronaut Kimiya Yui, and Russian cosmonaut Oleg Platonov. Cardman and Fincke were set to carry out a spacewalk, which is currently postponed.

Mission Duration

The crew arrived at the ISS on August 2, 2025, and the six-month mission is scheduled to conclude as planned. If NASA makes the decision to return the astronauts early, the duration of the expedition will change only slightly.

It is worth noting that scientists have found that the Moon is slowly absorbing fragments of Earth's atmosphere. This process has been ongoing for billions of years due to the "invisible highways" created by the magnetic field of our planet.

The situation with the astronaut on the ISS is particularly important, as the health of astronauts must always remain a priority. NASA is actively working to ensure the safety and well-being of its crew, so a possible rapid return to Earth would be an important solution if needed.
