In Odessa Region, police discovered over 300 thousand cannabis plants (photo).
Police in Odessa discovered a huge cannabis plantation near the border with Moldova. The plot, the size of 10 football fields, covered nearly 7 hectares. This plantation was discovered in one of the villages in the Rozdilnianskyi district. It has been established that the land belongs to the forest fund of Ukraine and is used by the state forestry enterprise.
The plot with the plants was regularly cultivated, the land was plowed, and the rows were thinned out. The police found 332 thousand cannabis plants and a tractor with a trailer on the plot. All this narcotic-containing vegetation was destroyed.
Evidence collection continues in order to bring to justice all those involved in the illegal cultivation of cannabis. Criminal proceedings are being conducted under the article about illegal production and distribution of drugs.
Earlier, the police detained drug dealers who disguised banned substances as sweets and sold them in Kyiv. As a result of the joint operation, a large batch of drugs was destroyed, and seven people were arrested, including the organizer of the group.
