Important changes await teachers - what will change in September.
Starting from September 1, teachers of general secondary education in Ukraine will begin to receive an increased monthly allowance due to the increased professional workload and difficult working conditions during the state of war.
Currently, the educational ombudsman explained that from September 1, the increased allowance for teachers will amount to 2600 hryvnias, which is twice as much as before. This money is provided for in the state budget for 2024 and is not related to the performance or evaluation of teachers.
Which positions guarantee the right to the allowance
Financial assistance is provided for all teachers regardless of their position, place of residence, working hours, and subject of teaching. Payments will cover about 400 thousand people, including school directors, other staff, and those working part-time.
These increases in payments are aimed at creating a support system for teachers who work under constant challenges and threats.
In addition to basic salaries, educators can receive bonuses for their work. Also, some teachers working in difficult conditions have appealed to the educational ombudsman with complaints regarding the non-payment of allowances since the beginning of the current year.
The increase in monthly allowances for teachers of general secondary education in Ukraine starting September 1 is a step towards improving working conditions for educational staff, which will help ensure support and recognition for those who teach the country's future every day. The main goal is to create more favorable conditions for teachers during challenging times, such as the state of war, so that they can continue their important work for the benefit of society.
