New Damages Detected at ZNPP: What Threatens the Safety of the Station.
According to inkorr.com: The repair of the 330 kV 'Ferosplav-1' power line at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) continues after the successful reconnection of the station to Ukraine's power grid. Rafael Grossi, Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), reported that additional damages to the line were identified during the restoration of the power supply.
The backup line 'Ferosplav-1', which is critically important for ensuring nuclear safety, requires additional repair work. The station, which halted the operation of six reactors more than three years ago, still operates on emergency diesel generators, highlighting its vulnerability.
Summary
After reconnecting ZNPP to the power grid, damages to the backup power line were discovered, putting the stability of nuclear safety at the facility at risk. Repair works are ongoing, and the need for reliable power supply underscores the importance of these measures.
