NABU and SAP have completed the investigation regarding Kolomoisky

The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office have completed the investigation concerning the former owner of 'PrivatBank', Ihor Kolomoisky. This was reported by NABU's press service on Telegram on Wednesday, July 23.

In January-March 2015, the then-head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional State Administration and the ultimate beneficiary of 'PrivatBank' organized a scheme to embezzle funds from the bank amounting to over 9.2 billion UAH for the purpose of financing an affiliated offshore company and increasing his share in the statutory capital of the institution.

'For this, the bank was artificially obliged to pay the specified controlled company over 9.2 billion UAH under the pretext of allegedly repurchasing its own bonds at an inflated price',

Subsequently, over 446 million UAH was transferred to the accounts of three related legal entities under the guise of transactions involving the purchase and sale of securities, and then to the accounts of two more.

'Eventually, the funds were credited to the personal account of the ultimate beneficiary of 'PrivatBank'. He disposed of them at his discretion — contributed to the statutory capital of 'PrivatBank' in response to the requirements of the National Bank of Ukraine',

Recall that in February, Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky imposed sanctions against businessman Ihor Kolomoisky. It was previously reported that the return of the state 'PrivatBank' to its former owners is impossible.

>The message from NABU and SAP about the completion of the investigation regarding Ihor Kolomoisky indicates the completion of a specific stage in this case. The investigation revealed financial violations and illegal manipulations, which are likely to have further legal consequences for the participants in this scheme.
