NABU announced suspicion against Didenko couple: what the couple is accused of
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP) announced suspicion against the head of the Odesa Regional Council Hryhoriy Didenko and his wife Yuliya Didenko, a member of parliament of the IX convocation. According to the investigation, the couple did not declare property worth more than UAH 8 million in their annual asset declarations for the years 2021-2023. Furthermore, the SAP prosecutor filed a lawsuit to recognize the couple's assets worth nearly UAH 5 million as unjustified in order to recover them for the state.

Investigation details

According to inkorr.com: During the investigation, it was found that Hryhoriy Didenko and Yuliya Didenko acquired property worth about UAH 5 million between 2021 and 2024 without documented sources of income. Among the assets are contributions for apartments and two Audi SQ8 cars manufactured in 2021 and 2024. The actions of the suspects are classified under Part 2 of Article 366-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, and the investigation is ongoing.

Thus, the news concerns the suspicion against Hryhoriy and Yuliya Didenko for failing to declare assets and acquiring them without verified sources of income. NABU and SAP pointed out the absence of more than UAH 8 million in the couple's declarations, and an investigation has also been initiated regarding the recovery of unjustified assets.

This situation underscores the relevance of the fight against corruption in Ukraine, where the transparency of declarations and the justification of income become key factors for trust in public officials. The investigation may have serious consequences not only for the suspects but also for the image of the state authorities as a whole.
