Ukraine's National Guard Joins Youth Recruitment Drive

According to Novyny.live: On January 23, the National Guard of Ukraine announced it is now participating in the 'Contract 18-24' program. This initiative offers one-year contracts to young recruits, with the possibility of deployment to combat roles. This move is part of broader efforts to bolster Ukraine's defense forces with new personnel.

Participating Brigades and Units

The following ten brigades and specialized units are involved in the recruitment program:

  • 'Azov' Brigade
  • 'Khartyia' Brigade
  • 'Liubart' Brigade
  • 'Burevii' Brigade
  • 'Chervona Kalyna' Brigade
  • 'Kara-Dag' Brigade
  • 'Rubizh' Brigade
  • 27th Pechersk Brigade
  • 'Taifun' Unmanned Systems Unit
  • 'Omega' Special Operations Center

While most recruits sign a one-year contract, drone operators are required to serve for a two-year term.

Recruits joining the National Guard under this program are eligible for a sign-on bonus of one million hryvnias, along with other social benefits. Interested individuals must complete an application form on the respective unit's website. This initiative runs concurrently with the ongoing 'Offensive Guard' campaign, which is also recruiting for assault brigades.

The 'Contract 18-24' program represents a key component of Ukraine's strategy to strengthen its defensive capabilities. By attracting young people to serve, it aims not only to fill military ranks but also to provide social integration and financial support for a new generation. In the context of the ongoing war, such initiatives are crucial for maintaining the readiness and operational capacity of Ukraine's armed forces.
