Ukraine Strengthens Responsibility for Illegal Border Crossings: What Will Change.
According to inkorr.com: Ukraine is actively fighting against illegal border crossings. According to a representative of the State Border Guard Service, the highest number of violations is recorded at the border with Romania, while the lowest cases are at the border with Poland. Every day, up to 10 individuals attempt to leave the country using forged documents.
“Regarding attempts of illegal border crossing, they unfortunately continue, and we record the highest number of such cases at the border with Romania. In second place is the border with Moldova. In other sections, these attempts happen somewhat less frequently. Well, primarily, this is the border with Hungary and Slovakia. And the least, if we talk about attempts of illegal border crossing outside of checkpoints, occur at the border with Poland,” emphasized Demchenko.
To strengthen the fight against these offenses, the Ukrainian government has submitted a draft law to parliament, which envisages increasing responsibility for violations related to border crossing. The new initiative also establishes that during martial law, men aged 18 to 22 are allowed to cross the border. These measures are aimed at enhancing the country's security and combating criminal activities.
The legislative changes aim to improve border control and prevent abuses related to evading responsibility. The challenges facing border guards require prompt and clear actions to ensure Ukraine's national security in the face of modern threats.
