People's Deputy Buiміster leaves the 'Batkivshchyna' faction after suspicion against Tymoshenko.
Lyudmila Buiміster's exit from the 'Batkivshchyna' faction
According to TSN.ua: People's Deputy Lyudmila Buiміster left the 'Batkivshchyna' faction in the Verkhovna Rada after the announcement of suspicion against its leader Yulia Tymoshenko. Buiміster's departure from the faction occurred on January 14, as announced by the first deputy speaker Oleksandr Korniienko.
Lyudmila Buiміster entered parliament from the 'Servant of the People' party, but was expelled from that faction in 2021. In July 2025, she joined the 'Batkivshchyna' faction. Now, against the backdrop of news about the suspicion raised against Yulia Tymoshenko by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office (SAP), Buiміster made the decision to exit.
Political tension in parliament
It should be noted that according to the investigation, Yulia Tymoshenko initiated the creation of a mechanism for regular payments to deputies at the end of 2025. This situation became a catalyst for further political changes in the Verkhovna Rada.
Lyudmila Buiміster's exit from the 'Batkivshchyna' faction may indicate rising political tension in parliament, triggered by the investigation into Yulia Tymoshenko. It may also reflect a general trend in Ukrainian politics, where anti-corruption investigations become catalysts for changes in political forces.
The situation surrounding Tymoshenko continues to develop, and the further steps of deputies could significantly affect the political landscape of the country.
