Meeting of representatives from Ukraine and NATO

According to inkorr.com: Igor Zhovkva, deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, met with Ariella Vie, representative of NATO's international secretariat, to discuss the PURL initiative. So far, contributions from partners have been raised to cover Ukraine's priority needs amounting to $2.82 billion. The participants of the meeting reviewed the necessary steps to attract new contributions from member countries and alliance partners that have not yet joined the program. They also discussed mechanisms for obtaining funding from NATO countries for the next year.

"We have the necessary capabilities for the production of a wide range of weaponry, and it's not just drones. But we lack sufficient funding," Zhovkva emphasized.

PURL Initiative

The PURL initiative was launched in August of this year after negotiations between the presidents of Ukraine and the USA, as well as the NATO Secretary General. Today, 16 countries have joined the program, and seven more intend to join.

This meeting was an important step in the process of implementing the PURL initiative, which has already received some financial input from partners. The participants discussed further actions and ways to ensure the necessary funding for the successful implementation of the program.

The efforts being made to attract funding within the framework of the PURL initiative demonstrate Ukraine's commitment to its defense capability. Partner countries are active in their support, as ensuring security in the region remains a priority for all alliance participants. The next steps will ensure further progress in strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and NATO.
