Orban stated that the EU does not understand who attacked Ukraine: details of the scandalous speech

According to ТСН: The Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orban, made a new statement regarding the war in Ukraine and the assistance to Kyiv from the European Union.

At a press conference in Brussels, he criticized the EU leaders who are funding Ukraine and expressed doubts about the facts of Russian aggression.

Comments on the aggressor

Discussing the war in Ukraine, Orban noted that European leaders act from moral positions by supporting "the country that has suffered violence." However, he expressed doubts about who the real aggressor is.

"They (the leaders of EU countries - ed.) calmly have breakfast at home, drink coffee, and think that from a moral standpoint it is right to help a small country that has been attacked, of course, not so small, and it is not entirely clear who attacked whom," said the Hungarian Prime Minister.

According to him, the leaders of EU states believe it is right to finance Ukraine, not understanding the real cost of such decisions.

Financial consequences and assets

Orban emphasized that the notion that the war can be supported without significant financial consequences is erroneous. He believes that, ultimately, European taxpayers will pay for the decisions in favor of Kyiv.

"But in any case, we are currently helping a country that has suffered violence, and it costs us nothing. But in the end, they will have to pay,"
he stressed.

In addition, Orban criticized the idea of using frozen Russian assets to support Ukraine, stating that this effectively equals to "declaring war on Russia."

In his opinion, Western countries are mistaken in believing that "this war can be fought without spending a dime."

He also emphasized that the European Union is focusing more on defeating Russia than on achieving peace in Ukraine. This, according to him, explains Brussels' readiness to provide Ukraine with loans and other assistance.

It should be noted that Orban stated during the EU summit that Budapest does not support the decision to lend 90 billion euros to Ukraine and would not participate in it.

He referred to this loan as "lost money," which, in his opinion, Ukraine will not be able to repay, and warned Europe about the financial consequences of such a decision.

This statement by Orban once again highlights the discrepancies in positions among individual EU countries regarding support for Ukraine. While many states are ready to provide financial assistance, his skepticism about the reality of this support raises questions about the future stability of relations in the region. The situation remains tense, and the question of a peaceful resolution to the European conflict is becoming increasingly relevant.
