According to ТСН: Dangerous meteorological phenomena are being observed in Ukraine, particularly significant snowfalls, blizzards, and strong winds.

Weather forecast

Meteorologist Natalia Didenko noted that in the coming days a new cyclone from the southwest should be expected, bringing heavy precipitation and gusts of wind to storm values.

“However, due to the fact that the air temperature is already heterogeneous, there will be frost and snow in the west, in the northwest (Volyn, Rivne region, Zhytomyr region), while in the east +2 +6. In the southern part, it is practically spring, +10 +14 degrees. Such heterogeneous weather will continue tomorrow. I think it will be most difficult for residents of the central regions (Kropyvnytskyi and surrounding areas, Cherkasy region) because they will be in the zone of these contrasts, transitioning from negatives to positives. There may be snow, wet snow, or heavy rain. Dangerous phenomena such as ice accumulation may occur, which is very dangerous,” says Didenko.

Expected cold snap

Didenko also warned that after the cyclone, from January 9-10, a significant cold snap is expected in Ukraine.

“The east will be affected at the latest, but the west, north, center, and even the southwest may experience strong frosts, especially at night, obviously. The lowest air temperature, according to preliminary forecasts, will be in the north, west, and part of the center,” notes the meteorologist.

According to forecasts, in these regions on January 10, a reduction in air temperature to -10 to -15 degrees Celsius is likely.

It should be noted that under worsening weather conditions, the risk of dangerous situations on the roads increases, as well as infections of influenza and other viral diseases due to sharp temperature fluctuations. So residents of Ukraine are advised to be cautious and follow the updates from meteorologists.
