Attack on Ukraine on the night of January 9
Russian military attacked Ukraine on the night of January 9, using missiles and drones. The main targets of the strikes were Kyiv and the Lviv region. Four people died in the capital, and 24 were injured. A repeated strike in the Darnytskyi district injured rescuers and medics. Residential buildings, a kindergarten, and infrastructure in six districts of the city were damaged. In the Kyiv region, practically all districts were shelled, and in the Brovary district, a family with a five-year-old child was rescued from the rubble.
As a result of the attack on the village of Rudno in the Lviv community, a critical infrastructure facility was hit. According to preliminary data, the enemy may have used 'Oreshnik', but Lviv mayor Andriy Sadovyi reported that this information has not yet been confirmed.
Due to the attack in the village of Rudno, the shock wave damaged the automatic gas safety system. Consequently, gas supply was temporarily suspended for 376 subscribers.
These events indicate a further escalation of violence in the region, exacerbating humanitarian issues and presenting new challenges for Ukrainian infrastructure. Attacks on critical facilities threaten not only the safety of the local population but also the stability of the entire region.
