Ukrainians planning a trip to Germany will undergo enhanced border control measures that have been in effect since September this year. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed that these additional checks will continue for a long period.

Scholz stated that the authorities will implement these measures as long as necessary to ensure the country's security and reduce illegal migration. He acknowledged that the checks may create difficulties and irritation among passengers, but they are necessary to address current migration issues. This is reported by dpa.

Additional checks are part of measures to combat illegal border crossings. Since their implementation, more than 30,000 people have been refused entry.

This means that Ukrainians planning to travel to Germany should prepare for possible delays at the border. The Time to cross the border may increase due to temporary document checks.

There is also a likelihood that in some cases, a person may not be allowed into the country if their documents or status do not meet the requirements. The German authorities have implemented these measures for more effective control over the illegal migration situation and to maintain stability within the country.
